The artistic research is driven by a creative impulse that absorbs life, whether it holds intimate, social, or political value, into art. Within it, the study of materials is an exploration that transcends the physical dimension; the serious coherence through which thematic fields are embraced merges with the impulsive lightness of the gesture, which, in turn, becomes trace, action, and/or absence; and the immediacy of the attitude is both irreverent and playful - provided that the term play is conceived as the creation of a free space open to associations. The gaze is painterly: on one hand, it approaches the material to create informal works and and, on the other hand, it shapes the gesture to produce installations and site-specific interventions.

While maintaining its own identity, since the late 1970s, the artist's early practice has extended into collective and independent art projects: initially, through collaborations on public art projects, and later, through the opening of Spazio Palomar / Palomar Space and the co-founding of Gruppo Koiné / Koinè Group. In the 1980s, the public dimension, a key element of both his poetics and projects, finds expression in cultural activism and political engagement.
