The Collateral Works and Drawings series is parallel to the main artistic research. It includes abstract and organic paintings on paper and wood, both direct and automatic.
Here the pictoral sign moves and it appears as a materic, tangible trace, as in the work Segno Libero/free sign (2022); a trace a memory, as in the works L'Ultima Cena/ The Last Supper (2010-2023); or a way to play with the very sense of identity, as in the works Signature (2023);
It also includes portraits, such as the work Alice (1989), and Iqbal Masih (1998), portraying the young daughter and a Pakistani child labor activist, united by the largeness of the pictorial surface, perhaps in an attempt to extrapolate the identity of the portrayed person or to highlight an emotional tie.
